About Fats and Pet

OUR STORY

PET: It was a typical night, whilst attending University. I was ignoring my studies, as my mind had wandered elsewhere… to a place it had never been. I pulled out my reflection (drawing) pad and what happened next forever changed me. There, on the paper, was a shark posing on a dock, raising up his human catch, overcome with joy and accomplishment. I laughed out loud- but mainly at the ideocracy. Continuing through the next several weeks, my studies were set aside for something more, something bigger than myself. I had created about 25 pages of animals and humans- in role-reversed scenes. I put them in a book and gave them to my brother as a gift.

FATS: 17 years after my brother gave me the colouring book, I found it. The book had been shoved into the bottom of a cabinet drawer, underneath a pile of knitted beanies and old jazz records. I phoned Pet. It was time for the world to know about the atrocities.

Pet

Pet was born to humans in the mid-1980’s. The youngest of three boys he was always watching and listening. As the family never owned traditional pets, someone had to fulfill this role- born was his nickname. His life partner of nearly 11 years manages the household of their four young children. Pet enjoys constructing, drawing, and working at his side hustle- selling commercial insurance. At one point in life, their household was bustling with six dogs, two cats, nine chickens, two ducks, four hermit crabs, three praying manti, and one stubborn newt. His love for animals is understated. The proof is in the albums.

Fats

Fats was born to humans in the early 1980’s. The eldest of three boys, he always had a love for animals. His first animal friends were all stuffed: Henrietta (cat), Frank (bear), Mr Worm (worm) and Mr. Seal (seal). His life partner of nearly 23 years manages to contain their three young boys in their habitat. Fats also loves to play golf, sing in a band, and work his side hustle as president of a small financial consulting firm. Life is full, and even more complete, now that he is privileged- working to give a voice for our Earth Partners.
